Be a Hope & Justice volunteer
We depend on the hard work of a committed group of volunteers – hotline workers, special projects volunteers, and our board of directors. And we're always hoping for more.
If you're interested in helping people affected by abuse and violence, we hope you'll consider becoming a
- Hotline volunteer. We offer comprehensive training for hotline workers. The training is long – 35 hours over 6 weeks – but you'll come away with the information and practical experience you need to confidently answer hotline calls and offer support and a listening ear to callers, whether they're in crisis or just wondering what's going on. And an experienced staff advocate is always available by phone to provide you with support and information should you need it as you do this work.
Volunteers can also choose to meet in person with people in need of our help – along with an experienced staff advocate – during business hours at the Hope & Justice office that's most convenient. Become a safe voice for someone in need
- Special projects volunteer. Help out when we need extra hands at an event, to hang posters, distribute outreach materials, clean offices, or do some gardening or yard work at one of our buildings. You never know what might come up...
- Board member. Our volunteer board members support strategic planning, raise funds, oversee the financial and programming management team, and keep the organization connected to the community through their personal and professional associations.
